Michael J Burden Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 I have a good widowhood cock who is destined to go to Bordeaux 570 miles 26/07/2014.Two weeks before that date we have Saintes in our fed at 503 miles. I know the wind is crucial to my decision but what are your thoughts on sending him to both races?
showman Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 Impossible to answer !!Without knowing his racing background etc, and most important, having the pigeon in your hand, an assessment cannot be made.OMO
geordie1234 Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 See how he comes from Bordeaux and how quickly he bounces back... I'm pretty sure he'll let you know himself
andy Burgess Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 I have a good widowhood cock who is destined to go to Bordeaux 570 miles 26/07/2014.Two weeks before that date we have Saintes in our fed at 503 miles. I know the wind is crucial to my decision but what are your thoughts on sending him to both races? so many questions , how old is he , has he been before , how has performed this season etc etc etc .if he,s looking the part NOW and Saintes is 2 weeks away ,i would aim for that race .if he performs well and it takes nothing or little from him , then consider Bordeaux. good luck whatever decision you come too .
paddymac Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 Too many hurdles and dangers facing our birds these days when they are racing, I would stick with the original planning of sending him Bordeaux and forget about the Saintes race.
Michael J Burden Posted June 20, 2014 Author Report Posted June 20, 2014 Thank for your answers and questions. He is 2 year old flew Chanel x4 times as yearling including 500 miles where he finished 23rd fed next day hard race. Flew cholet NFC two weeks ago 411 miles 1st bird. Today has gone back to messac 330 odd miles. I know he has got return yet. But he is on fire and very keen. His grand father won the MNFC Bordeaux race for Armstrong and Wheatley a few years ago 549 miles. Mjb
