Craig Forsyth Posted May 24, 2014 Author Report Posted May 24, 2014 Okay thanks for the replies and let me just check canker is when a bird gets a bit of maze stuck in the throat and it kinda gets infected as I can see yellow at the back of its throat? Thanks craig
frankdooman Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 It's nothing to do with maze graig but yellow puss is one sign of canker but very advanced at that stage canker can't be seen in early stage and will be in the crop you need the microscope to see it tell tale signs are birds being off the pace to not retuning and high losses over the 300 ml stage better to get a test done
gulkie Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 Once cleared ,you can also treat them every 4 weeks as a preventative .
greenlands Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 I got my ronidazol from Belgica De Weerd it's 15%,if you get the Homing World it's advertised by Dac Pharma 100gm sachet 10% next day delivery +P&P.Tel:0116 2478088.
OLDYELLOW Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 I've stopped treating for canker and now use Iodine So far so good
just ask me Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 prevention is best for sure stress can cause it transferred though the drinking water damp lofts the list goes on and on its a natural thing in a bird its not a disease as such iodine organic cider vinegar nystation all helps to keep it at bay all birds have some levels of it a raise in canker levels can also tell you that they may be a underlying problem
