Chainman1976 Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 What would you feed your stock birds that aren't rearing young this yr ?
JohnQuinn Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 What would you feed your stock birds that aren't rearing young this yr ? The same as those that are rearing, see no reason to mess about with different feeds just because they are sitting idle. jmo.
Chainman1976 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Report Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks john so is that breed and wean corn mix ?
JohnQuinn Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 I use breeding mix alone, have never used breed and wean but either will do the job.
tommy bhoys Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 What would you feed your stock birds that aren't rearing young this yr ?they would be on the the barley for me

William Reid Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Don't like to say this but I would have to agree with both of the old guys .
tommy bhoys Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Don't like to say this but I would have to agree with both of the old guys .less of the old guys billy least ive still gt my hair
paddymac Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 What would you feed your stock birds that aren't rearing young this yr ?I would feed 50% resting mix with 50% barley especially if the stock birds are confined and not flying out.
walterboswell59 Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 50 50 barley and chicken pellets the pellets have all the minrals vit and grit they need and you dont get the dry feathers you get with just barley as its mixed with oils and molasses
gulkie Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Agree with paddymac if they are kept in .if you feed them the same as the stock that are feeding young then I take it you will be feeding a high protein mix ,stock birds will pile the weight on ,I would give them 50% barley and 50% economy and a measured amount, MO.
