There is a report in one of today's newspapers about a 90% decline of the sparrow population in and around Glasgow. This dramatic fall is most certainly due to the increased numbers of sparrow hawks all over the place,I place no substance in the clams of Better Together that the flocks are leaving Scotland for fear of a yew vote in the referendum.

the rspb say the sparrows decline is due to some sort of virus

 

 

the other finches and the lark they say it is due to the farmers spraying

They will say anything, I don't believe a word they say, as we all no, its the sparra that's doing the damages nowt else. ;)

But its true though Jim, whatever crap they write, they always seem to blame something else. :D

i stay in the sticks now and cant believe how many house sparrows i see flocks of at least a hundred at a time every farm yard seems to be full with them :animatedpigeons:

maybe in the farm yards tommy ,i think that would be because of all the spilt grain i could not tell you the last time i saw one round the houses here

0nly see robins wrens hedge sparrows plenty of finches pretty much every bird u can think of remember its on edge of the woods with burn there also :animatedpigeons:

guy in next farm feeds all the birds in feeders fae the trees loaded with every bird watch the sparrow hawk attack them daily :animatedpigeons:

yip another birdman best place for goldies is the army camps and for bullies is back of eddlewood and u would meet wullie there tae and jimmy stirling learnt alot fae jimmy :animatedpigeons:
