bullcock Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Brussels 484 Cologne 561Thanks for this information, obviously we would need to look further for the longest race, but this is all food for thought going forward.
bullcock Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 We flew Liege and Les Mckay won it in Carnoustie. He told me he watched his pigeon coming in off the sea.The birds were up in a west by s.w wind and his bird mustve flown over 400 miles of water. We don't know what our pigeons are capable of until we test them. You may be right Del, but we won't know until we try these race points, we need to think outside the box.

mazzie Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 does everyone argree tho that the first inland nat shouldnt happen tho and how do you put a motion in
Novice Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 From what I can determine the main reason for poor returns from Inland Nationals is Duplication. Many club and Federation fanciers send birds to these races which may be capable of taking Club and Federation positions when released from a similar distance in a convoy of pigeons which are all going in the same direction. However, when they are released in the company of birds whose home lofts are spread all over the country they need to think their way home. Many of these Duplicated birds are not capable of this task. I appreciate that the SNFC depend on these races to swell the bank account, however, if these races were dropped from averages this would allow the Duplication exercise to continue while the true distance fancier could take a step back and target the races in which he was really interested.
Delboy Posted October 24, 2013 Author Report Posted October 24, 2013 does everyone argree tho that the first inland nat shouldnt happen tho and how do you put a motion in You and a seconder must propose a full race programme and both be at agm when it comes up.Just proposal with dates and lib points and send to SNFC sec.
geordie1234 Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Looks like Bonn could be a great race for the Gold Cup
