Guest Owen Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 I use a .22 and the one thing I never do is to talk about my business. The less people who know what you are doing the better. Why not take a leaf out of my book and just get on with it and keep yout mouth shut. If you do not want to do that you will either have to call in the local Pest Officer or try to drive them away which is not so easy as all that.
Guest JSD Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 George get Jim Cullen to come and sing American Pie to them, if that doesnt move them nothing will.

peter pandy Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 I do have a firearms certificate and live in a built up area so shooting is a definite no-go idea. When I erected my loft it was snowing and prints were left in the snow which I identified as rats, cats and foxes. Being a kindly person and aware of other animal lovers right's to have pets I erected an electric fence designed for chickens and can assure all that this is the humane way to rid your garden of unwanted pests without alarming your neighbours. A one second burst of 15,000 volts deters any living thing from disturbing your property and they are legal causing no harm to pets or children. Some of the suggestions put forward by caring loving fanciers are nothing more than disgustingly disgraceful.

gulkie Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 Yes you can get the authorities or RSPCA trap them and liberate them in the countryside as they do carrying all The diseases that go with them .I have had them dumped on my leases ,the countryside foxes are beautiful to seeAnd the townies are a mess covered in mange.
JohnQuinn Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 This is the best PERMANENT remedy for unwanted pests, not all vermin choose to go OVER a fence. Nothing escapes him, large or small.

JohnQuinn Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 Is that a German Wire haired Pointer? No he's a Bedlington Patterdale cross. He has the Bedlington coat but i clip him neat as i prefer that look to the curls. There is another litter from this pair just born, don't know hwo many she had though. This is him at 6 weeks.
