4 to 6 weeks old would think give them a small feed in morning then let them out to sit on loft board but can go in or out when they like.then feed at an eveining when i want them in.yesterday at 5 was first time i had let them free tho ie taken small aviary away.went onto loft roof then onto fence other side garden then back on roof

Right age for settling them, but don't feed Before letting them out. At the beginning they need a reason to go back in and an empty crop is imo the way to condition their behaviour. Routine is everything when it comes to any kind of livestock to get the best out of them, I know your probably loving sitting with them picking around in the garden, we all like that, but when they start flying "proper" they really need to be in the sky or in the loft at the start to create good habits for when you race them. When you start training them you only have them in the basket, sky or loft and you will reap the benefits of the discipline and routine when it comes to race days. atvb with them.
