andy Burgess Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 having looked at the youngsters for basketing tonight ,I have a hen with "pink wattles" .all others are glowing white ,should I keep her home or ? ,,,,, un-less an "old hand" tells me she,s in form ,that's my thinking ?
Wiley Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Going to need a bit more info really Andy, is she younger? Is she just started showing out? Or is she paired? Some families come into form with a pinkish wattle but only you will know your birds, if in doubt I'd leave her out

Tony C Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 A hint of pink I'd send, if the pink was as pronounced as the white I'd err on the side of caution.

Did you send her Andy?
andy Burgess Posted July 26, 2013 Author Report Posted July 26, 2013 Did you send her Andy?thanks for all the replies , I didn't send her Sapper .Wiley her family fly well for me (rare if any aren't in the mix) she is fairly mature ,not paired or showing yet. Tony C ,I would say the "pink" is pronounced ,and Wattie ,it may be due to the fact she flew 2 days ago in the rain , although non of the others seem to have this .

I have an hen who when is flying in rain her wattles vanish, she never had any wattles until around 12 months old, hence the name she has 'no wattles'
