geordie1234 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 He is the report into the Ancensis race as you can see the pigeons getting a feed it gives you and idea off how much space is available for pigeons to eat or drink. Also good reading for anyone interested http://www.elimarpigeons.com/Article4/AncenFull.htm

Delboy Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Just got my 2nd pigeon from Ancensis, lol, is the race still open lol
Delboy Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Ill tell ye something, every single race with the SNFC this year has been a hard one with poor returns.Think its time for a change of transporters along with other things!!!!!Im not saying the transporters have caused the bad races but im not sure if they are the best available to the best pigeons in Scotland so, on that note, they may have contributed slightly to the disasters??

Hear hear Delboy, the birds have a hard enough job fighting the elements and BOP's, a change can only be for the better

Delboy Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 What kind of change do u have in mind Derick not that I disagree ? Everything from top to bottom in the SNFC has to be looked at imo.We have lost the professionalism that we were once admired for.
elanco Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Delboy, you are 100% spot on with your last comment without a shadow of doubt, there is only one way the once mighty SNFC is going....DOWN, and we , the members have to stop this but I fear this may be to late and I hope I am wrong, and I truly mean that.

I think the biggest reason for bad returns is the quality of the pigeons in the last 20 years has dimished. ie loads of fanciers have brought in sprint/middle distance birds and crossed them with good old 500ml scottish birds and made them of a poorer quality. This year we have raced in wicker baskets and geraldy baskets making no diffance bad races with both. The new national raced with geraldy transporters and had bad returns also. I think fanciers winning at inland nat & ypres in to the central belt and think its easier because of this. but 500ml plus. is a lot harder and I dont think many fanciers have many good 500/600ml pigeons
Delboy Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Ye know, I would rather my pigeons were transported in a cardboard box as long as they were guaranteed access to water. WATER, WATER, WATER, that's the very key to success in these races. If there is any question mark of them not getting access as regular as they need then the transporters used are simply not good enough, omho.
walterboswell59 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 you only have to look at our marking station to see how the standards have droped from hamilton town hall to a greenhouse the workers and members and pigeons where f k g melting it was a joke
