Cheers Mick, hats off to the guys that got in on a very tough race.

Hard luck but you can look back on a really good season winning the sec. on the long race was a great achievement in itself.

Thanks to all who have congratulated me on timing last night. I would like to give credit to the breeder, Paul Thomson of Forres (Blue Chequer Pied) We were drawn together in the Joe Murphy Young Bird exchange two years ago and this is one of three birds Paul gave me. You need a bit of luck in this game sometimes!

On a less positive note as John Hood said the returns are terrible. I only have one from eight and there are some of my best pigeons missing. There were 33 birds timed at the Dundee clock station from around 300 entries. Returns for my club members as far as I know are 1/9, 5/18, 5/11, 0/6, 0/6, 0/6, 0/15, 0/6. Don't know the answer but we cant carry on like this or channel racing is finished.

just got anothere one 6 birds now from 17 not good and my 5th bird did not reg at 8 20 last night because some silly old bassa switched the ets off because it was getting very hot and forgot to switch it back on when the doo came but dont think it would have made the result anyway from what i hear if i get 4 on it ill be well pleased hope everyone gets more when the wind changes and it cools down a bit lots of good birds missing

danny the reason the birdage is lower is due to the intense heat nothing more

a lot of fanciers didn't want to send in 30 plus degrees

so please don't try and read anything more into it

look at the y/b raceing sofar some wont train in this heat let alone send to races

davy most guys here just didnt have nowt to go to it and nothing to do with the heat as far to many losses and bad injuries with b o p
