Sorry for the late notice.

Will other than Unikon users (Tauris, Bricon and Tipes etc users) please note that there may be a delay marking birds for Ypres tonight on these systems due to the radio clock signal being unavailable.

We have made arrangements to have a GPS clock at the marking station, but this may not be until after 6pm.

Please be prepared for delay, or to use a manual clock for this race.

You can mark everything else on the Unikon system, thats if you have the unives lead, Bricon always supply one with a system but not sure about the others.

We had no problems using the unives lead on a unikon base station with time set in the normal way using a radio clock until the radio mast in Cumbria went down on 1st July. There had been prior warning in BHW on 5th June about the mast and loss of signal.

Last night we managed to get hold of a GPS arial. Time on the Unikon system still needed to be set manually, and like the night before neither Bricon nor Tipes clocks' time could be set on it using unives lead. I had already contacted Mark Palmer (Bricon) who confirmed Bricon Speedy clocks can't be set using unives lead when time is set manually on Unikon. The Tipes user agreed to use a manual clock and the birds were rubbered for this. I don't know what we would have done had Tam not agreed to do this.

Bricon club system was brought to the marking station and time set using a GPS arial but only after a lot of difficulty and well over an hour trying. The system was initially set up in the body of the hall (metal roof) and no GPS signal could be had there. Later it was moved to the entrance door, and one of the guys stood outside the hall holding and moving the arial around, and eventually a time signal was found by Bricon internal clock.

I saw the notice in the BHW in June but I don't know anything about clock setting and expected those that did to make plans for when it happened. Clocksetters do really need to take note of these notices and find out just how it will effect their marking station and make effective plans to deal with it - before the mast go off-line.

Why did they not strike manually with the station master?

Yip, so if the radio clock is left alone and not reset it should continue to work? That was the prob we had on wednesday night with unikon rc at marking

Might be wrong on this Steve,as you know I'm new to ETS but if the master clock is not receiving an updated time it won't allow you to synchronise the ETS ???

No mate, set clocks last night with the tauris nae probs
