you are right, but it can be both for some, i am not in favor of this arrangement as it defeats the purpose of owning your own premises, as it then puts an extra expense on to the club out with the loop, hopefully next year this will be dropped or the clubs that fall into this trap get re -reimbursed for the upheaval they find them self in as fair is fair and always the best, this year end should see us in profit

from running our own transporters, as that was for the benefit of the private hire firm of transport, if the trucks are getting used at a loss for training purposes, then there should be a fairness applied throughout the federation to all. these are not demands on the federation but they should be classed as a worth, in keeping a happy house in the fed. for the clubs this does not affect it should be made known of what it cost others.

What is the reasoning behind central marking and pick up points??

So the transporter can get on its way down the road asap George. It has to drive approx 300 miles so has to leave early.

might be so derek but why drive within 300yards of our club but we have to run to newmains with the baskets

Much the same with my own club we have had to hire a van to drive the 2 mins doon the road to the burnbank club hut with our baskets this friday for Newark

It's not ideal, and doesn't make sense to drive by a lot of the club's, especially clubs that have a lot of crates, problem is, there are 4-5 clubs that are well of the beating track which makes it truly impossible to pick up due to the restrictions on time getting down to the racepoint for 03.00-04.00 for a 06.00 liberation if required.

It's been this way for 10 Years once we get to 200+ Miles, im sure it first started when we started going down the east route which adds a lot of miles on to the journey.

Once we get this year by with, then perhaps we will need to take a fresh look at other options.

You do of course mean the Members at the Race program AGM Gareth?? Because that is where ALL of the above originated from. That's when the Majority of those present put their hands in the air and make decisions.

THEN! We, the committee, have to deliver what the Majority want, now if what the Majority of members present at that meeting want means their birds (and everybody else's) are picked up on a Thursday for races in excess of 200mls then That is what will have to be. Ironically!!! the very reason Central Marking/Pick Up Points were introduced in the first place. FUNNY OLD WORLD>

Agree John, the members are Lanarkshire federation, and they are the ones to decide at the appropriate meeting, will personally have 1 or 2 ideas to put forward for the race program meeting to solve the issue of central pick up point's.

bang on john its about time big bamby was pout in his place wee got rid of dictators and as for central marking i think it would cos les hasel to just pick them up if whe can run about during the week ferying every buddys doos wee could make arangments to get this sorted it just coses trouble at the central marking clubs with them just turning up getting thare doos pout throw then f off leven the members of the central marking to load transporters and handel the extra birds

i think you will find its the members of the big clubs that vote for it as its the bigger clubs that get used for pick up try going to a five or six member club for central marking and see what the big clubs say when they have to travel
