hotrod Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Ive got a yearling cock that's going to this weeks race ,unfortunately I've misplaced his ets ring ,they are all on their respective nest box fronts ,but his is missing , can I. Assign a new ring at race marking without setting up lap top .? If so can someone talk/take me through it ?
Walter swanston Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Would you not need to delete this bird from the list and then re-enter it on the list and assigne a new ets ring to it,I think you need a laptop

Ian McKay Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 You can delete the assigned ring without the puter and am almost sure you can reassign another one proided the bird is in the clock
Williedoo Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 You can delete the assigned ring without the puter and am almost sure you can reassign another one proided the bird is in the clock Correct,it was you who showed me how to do it.
walterboswell59 Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 You can delete the assigned ring without the puter and am almost sure you can reassign another one proided the bird is in the clockyou could be right ian our sec does it after clocks are run off
Blue Tooner Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 You can delete the assigned ring without the puter and am almost sure you can reassign another one proided the bird is in the clock 100% correct. Go to assignment. Key in the last 4 numbers of the ring no to find the bird then pressthe red button to delete the ets ring it will ask you to confirm. Then present the new ets ring to the ring marker as you would when assigning press green button to assign the ets ring. Then press F then press the red button or green button depending on whether you require a print out or not then select marking again and carry on as normal.Hope this helps
mosslands1 Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 why do you take the ETS ring off and put it on his box ???? sounds like you've got a screw loose or something similar lololo

So that's it done why do you take the ETS ring off and put it on his box ???? sounds like you've got a screw loose or something similar lololo I never put the rings on until all the pre season training is done ,so I assign the rings put them on each net box. Cocks at top and hens at bottom on the plastic widow fronts , simples .

hawked again Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 yesIf the answer is yes, then what's to stop someone returning to clubhouse and assigning a new ring to his pooler then when they know birds are returning to lofts they could then put the new eats ring over the pad? Doesn't sound right to me. Too easy to cheat. Paul, if your reading this I'm happy for you to try it with 07 2133 after you mark my birds tomorrow (if we basket). If it works you could post the result here but you'll need to start taking the ringer home with you and I'll take the keys. Don't mark the bird for racing though, the auld boy just sits with his feet up now watching tv or whatever.
Ian McKay Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 can this be done when in race mode to m8 If the bird and clock are in race mode it will not work
walterboswell59 Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 surely that cant be done does it not give a date or time of asignment If the bird and clock are in race mode it will not workjohn c says yes ian
DJL Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Yes you can assign a ring during marking but not if a pigeon is already marked for the race

Hi Stuart, it will depend on what model your clock is whether you need to do it with the computer or at home. If its an older clock i am pretty certain you will need the club Sec to do it on the computer. If its the latest model you can delete and assign a new ring at home without the club laptop.

It's the new shape John with rounded edges , tink it's called champ system ?
alex wight Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) You would need the laptop to update the members ring list once the ring has been swapped over, by synchronising, as the chips in each ring are different. the difference between champ and professional pocket clocks are that the champ is curved and the professional is straight Edited May 10, 2013 by alex wight
johnc Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 you can reasign a ring on a friday night only if the origonal ets ring has not worked, once the ring has been marked you can not put the birds number on to another ets ring for that race, the only way to cheat is if fanciers are allowed to put their own birds through, and if the bird is already in the system you dont need a laptop

Guest paulrstokes Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 If the birds ring number is in the clock already, Take it to the club, Pocket clock in the master Choose assignment last 4 numbers of the bird It will show its original ets ring Click C this will cancel the old ETS ring and the birds ring number will show but no ets code put new ring in base and click green This will now assign the new ring Press F Press C as you do not need to print Then choose marking and away you go
hawked again Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 100% correct I assigned a ring after marking today, clock was in race mode. It was for a bird in my clock that no longer races.
