Moult ?

This is a first for me anyway , have a latebred cock stopped the moult around Xmas. With one to go , they are only paired up for a month or so. , not had a youngster to rear , tossed him on Sunday ,he was late home , went to basket him today and he has now dropped the last flight , but still has 9 other flights on each wing , never seen this before in 36 years of keeping pigeons , yes they will drop the last ones when the main moult is under way but not first .anyone else had this ?

Sometimes they drop the last and first at the same time Stu. Ive had a few do this,its not uncommon m8.

Yes but it hasn't dropped its first yet .ive seen them dropping the last and first together but not like stopping at Xmas then starting again .

Have a 2 yearold late bred hen done the same last year dropped her last flight before any other then threw it again after all the rest had re-grown thats why she has not raced yet.
