have handled a few of these pigeons on my many visits to the Ledesma Lofts in Tenerife, if it wasnt so much hassle getting them into the UK i would certainly have a couple to try out... they are nice pigeons with 'plenty of bottle'

Must admit I thought it was mad when I first heard it mentioned on here, but after looking at it and listening to some talk on the subject I think it is possible.Would certainly be an interesting challenge and the winners would be very worthy ones indeed.

 

Not sure its a venture the SNFC would ever entertain,maybe try and attract a bigger audience??

 

Theres a lot of talk of international racing these days,more Scottish lads getting geared up to try their hand at it and with the interest in a lot of these water races around the Islands in the Meditteranean and the Atlantic,its maybe no as daft an idea as some would like to think

Rab you did see how many was sent 125 birds only there best , oslo is chicken feed ta the Bayo Casablanca race flying across the flat North sea and another benifit would be the birds at oslo would be libbed well above sea level but its an event like oslo that should be held for the gold cup its a bloody national the blue ribbon in scottish pigeon racing ?

when you look at that and then see what we allow and call distance racing

they would put the snfc to shame take even the first nat race we only do it for the money shocking and with the amount of money in the bank they still want more

why may i ask get your bird into distance racing if you are scared to race over water get them to race over more land and what if its a 2 day race so what if it is for half of the national it is all ready. answer tee hee no balls will come the reply i guess

What is all wrong with the system is most of the fancy that held sales raffel books etc to accumulate the money when i must add the cuboard was bare zilch, is mostly passed away and there birds certainly didnt get the comfort in a transporter they were promised, when collecting for the comfort of there birds, then they come away we this crap that INLAND races is keeping up the SNFC get a life the snfc were putting 203 birds ta rennes in 1920 and in 1976 the birdage was near 8,000 and today its at an all time low down ta a 1,000 birds , but danny this was always a long distance club for french races crossing water , but there will always be a SNFC as long as there is distance racing but if there is no changes regarding these sprinters getting the same recognition as distance birds were driving ta a dead end , and with oot the french races do they think fanciers are going ta pay a fiver a doo ta pit ta a race where birds are gan doon the road a couple o hundred miles , and i must add finishing federation racing as feds will have ta pay over the odds we empty lorries ? Its the greatest performance a bird puts up that makes a national , and there will always be sponsors for greatness , but not for ordinary races its a joke yes danny time for change make there doos fly fa oslo or faroe isles and you know there is a true champion goes ta collect there trophy at the top table instead of a ordinary sprinter the i inland national is a joke and them that is sending ta them wants ta be reconised by using the snfc as a means of selling there s***e ?

Walter i couldn't put it it better my self the bus is been driven buy the federation wreckers here the biggest fed in lanarkshire is selling its sole to be taken to a sprint distance race all for the sake of being allowed to duplicate what a way to go

yes Oslo should be the order of the day and may i suggest that member that want to fly OSLO approach the national and ask for 10,000 from the kitty to make this race possible after all it is your money they have so get your committee member told of what you are seeking to do

Danny, why dont you put your money where your mouth is and join the National, then you youself could come to a meeting and put your point of view across, but until the 12th of never why dont you just STF up n get on with your races fi Eurocentral which is as far as your birds seem to go, if all reports are to be believed
