my wife heard about this at work.

Onions :cry-blow: have been found to have properties that collect bacteria from its surroundings. There was a family which didn't catch a cold and they were asked the reason and the answer was an onion in every room, not peeled, and if you leave an onion in a freshly painted room it takes the smell out the room. The only downside is the danger from onions that have been sliced and left (even in a plastic bag) to be used at a later date, they can be highly poisonous because they gather up the bacteria.

might just stick a couple hanging up in the youngbird loft...ybs ;)
