sapper756 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 once again this thread has created a HUGE interest with now over 10,000 views , with all the best racing yet to come and big prizes to be won, keep the comments and support coming lads, it is well appreciated... :emoticon-0123-party: :emoticon-0167-beer: It certainly has grabbed the interest of many Basics members, might be an idea to see if there would be enough interest in a Basics syndicate for next year. WulDon Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 seems the returns have dried up suddenly15 birds home yesterday up to 13.30 then nothing.or does he stop updating the returns by a certain time it would appear when returns dry up on these islands you just do nt seem to see many of the lost pigeons again mate, a topic i raised with Jose on my last visit... once the pigeons are empty that is it, in there climate there aint much in the fields or water reserves like we have here in the UK!
lastdrop Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Good luck for next race. Syndicate next year? Count me in
jake12 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 going along nicely for you and jock and a few of the other scottish lads and long may it continue!!!!! unfortunately team doolanders are in the brown stuff and just hope come march we can be eating paella and waiting for one of our own team birds!!!!!!lol C`mon John, don`t give up, we still have Rapier and Pienter left for the "Doolanders". Remember only one can win and there are a lot of prizes in the final. Lady luck certainly has to be on the doos side but our own racing in Britain is becoming like that wi` BOP problems. :emoticon-0167-beer: Allan

jake12 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 It certainly has grabbed the interest of many Basics members, might be an idea to see if there would be enough interest in a Basics syndicate for next year. JMOThat`s not a bad idea pal, this is my second year in this race. My activated bird "HIEDRA" last year won 10th in the car race and 37th in the final. It won enough back to more than pay for my entry this year. Its about £200:00 plus £30:00 per bird. I would suggest waiting till the third party activations are open when you can activate birds for 220e (£200). The picking is just pot luck but 2nd and 3rd open last year were third party activations. Its also a bit of fun logging in for the race to see if your bird makes. Allan
WulDon Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) PB Syndicate i reckon would draw a lot of interest, one of the biggest attractions to this OLR for me is the transparency of the whole competition from start to finish... the constant updated and highly professional website is second to none... it is good for fanciers who are spending a few quid to know what is going on every step of the way with there pigeons, unlike some of the other OLR's on the go through out! i would agree with Allan, activations would be the way to go for a syndicate.. would cut out a lot of hassle getting pigeons ready and shipped at the same time, no losses off the loft, no losses at the first hurdles... something to think about??
