looks like 'Homer' has learnt his lesson now, a wee handful being lost at each stage just indicates the obstacles even at these short training spins! :emoticon-0138-thinking:

TRAINING 14 is tomorrow... good luck Scotland and all competing! :scotland:

 

909 pigeons will be liberated from a place called SAUZAL, which is 53km... this is in the north part of the island, which should let the pigeons gain valuable island knowledge and put them in good steed for the hotspots... tomorrow could be interesting!! :emoticon-0138-thinking:

TRAINING 14 delayed for another day, due to a report of 'Calima' condition! :mellow:

 

Calima as i believe is when a light wind picks up from the direction of Morocco blowing sand/dust over thus creating an almost slight fog effect, this sand can be seen settling on local vehicles etc on the island.

 

This effects the pigeons visibility and sight makning homing quite difficult, this was obvious in the 2010 final when returns where devastating that day! :(

I have seen this out in Malta wul and the birds will not even fly around the loft

TRAINING 14 took place today, 909 pigeons were released at 11.15am

 

leaders were clocked at 12.31, so they were a bit slow today.

 

WELL DONE to winning Romanian loft TEAM CELEMAN CSABA with there pigeon 'HETOCO'

 

same pigeon that won TRAINING 13 :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:

still 251 birds adrift... they are still trickling in quite staedy though, returns 72% :emoticon-0138-thinking:

 

 

looks like final tally for returns this evening is 691, they have been coming very steady right up till about 7pm... lets hope plenty of the 218 adrift make it tomorrow! :)

VITARGO has had a night out before, LADY IN RED has only been late once by a good few hours... so lets hope they have pick up some local knowledge of the island and put in an appearnce tomorrow :emoticon-0138-thinking:
