Tony C Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 I cant see the Hampden crowd giving Maradona a rapturous welcome tonight.....................why on earth would they want to do that??? :-/
retired Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 I cant see the Hampden crowd giving Maradona a rapturous welcome tonight.....................why on earth would they want to do that??? :-/ Be the only time you will see him managing in the Uk. He wont last long in that job absolute waste of space. When we had Gazza down here, he was meant to have been on the wagon according to the papers not what we see every Friday night or Sunday afternoon. Its a family forum so my thoughts on Maradona cant be aired properly same as every other English person though. >
Roland Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Agreed vallance lofts. A waste of space and good air. Same as Gazza, great player ... when he was manager here he was a public disgrace.... every night and week - end. Again can't spout here...

Worst of all for you Roland is whether the fans thought it or not you had a bloody good manager there who was removed for that muppet. He will be dead within 2 years with noone else but himself to blame.
Roland Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Very true, and yes the fans did like him overall. a Chairman too that just couldn't afford to be. Often see him at lower tables looking for signings. He is setting Corby back on track big time so we are all pleased for them. Still can't beleive we turned Max Griggs down ... Like Northampton Town did... hence why he took on Irthingborough, and then Rushden consolidated to make Rushden and Diamonds. Still that's life as they say. We have had some great name mangers in our History, Like Dougan, Lawton, Aitkinson, Bentley, Rowley, and many more. Indeed Dougan whilst here started the controversy of players names on shirts, Contracts etc. etc. And Kettering still holds the record for scoring the most FA. Cup goals.

I notice no Peter Morris listed there or Micky Nuttel as a player for that matter lol ;D We have had three chairman like your bad one, hopefully now we are more stable and building from the bottom back up - but not this season lol

Roland Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Yeah like I say peter Morris did well, very well indeed as he had to reduce, and swap lesser players due to price / cash flow. But will say that there can't be a more honest and better chairman than Mechamppy, certainly stuck his hand in his pocket and kept us going through a very rough and lean spell. Yes unfortumately was into a downward spiral at the last seasons or two. But a very nice and genuine fellow.
Guest Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 wiz that a dundee tap e wiz wearin there ;D ;D ;D aye, he got it oot a lucky bag,(wiseman)
Roland Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Ritchie either as a player... but what a player. Too many really I suppose to name all. Mind never was a 'Poppies supporter' but have to give credit or dirt where due.
