Mixxy Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 I bet you a pound to a penny all the clubs had better than usual birdage for these early channel spins. Why, because there has been too many blow homes, the birds been having it easy, not too much thinking, not too much hard work, and the lads get carried away too, not thinking how these channel hops can be a different kettle of fish. half the birds entered should not been in the race to start with.

mark Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 and that my freinds is the most sense on this thread numpty, last monday we went sea fishing for the day just off the needles near the isle of wight. when we set off for home there was no breeze calm as you like off the needles it was a well brisk wind with the boat rocking everywhere. i dont think people realise how fickle the sea can be with changing winds i had trouble keeping my footing and for a small bird to try to cross the channel i take my hat off to them.
swilcox Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Mate In the last two seasons 2007 and 2008 my birds have flown out of there skins and won all before them however today 2009, i have hit a brick wall, old birds coming ok but not in front like before, my ybs are being taken and chased by hawks, lost a load and im down in the dumps however iv always been told that when things are not going your way you have to work twice as hard, clean out 2 times a day, clean the drinkers every day, improve the ventilaltion the food the exercise, what ever it takes to improve and if you hit the same crack hard enough and often enough it will open up. Have faith and confidence in yourself and follow a program of improvement and you will get there, maybe not tomorrow but maybe the day after. Stuart Wilcox
REDROCKET Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 i've heard this sun and moon thing before what a load of nonsence there's guys on here saying 100%returns so in my opinion it comes down to what the budgie keeps saying 98% cr*p that we all have in our lofts and unless you got 100% returns im affraid your in the same boat as me.
REDROCKET Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 sorry mate a bit off the point, as other members have said take the good with the bad we've all been there if your having a bad start to the season. race your old birds out for rest of season and dont expect any results out of them and concentrate on the young birds and get your problems sorted with your old birds for next year. dont give in and dont get shot of your birds.good luck and all the best.
Guest youngzimmy Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 tskyes IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN COME UP WITH NUMB NUT A SPELLING ERROR DEARY ME
Guest Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 I do think the moon and the sun on the same day does cause problems. However we all look for reasons to blame something else. I ahd a fancier contact me to ask if he could send his birds to the local fed open through my club, he had been banned from his club for calling someone a liar he told me, checked with my fed sec and he agreed. He had a bad race the fed sec and me have had threatening phone calls accusing us of taking the birds out of the baskets. He told me they are in my stcok loft accused me of being ku klux klan and was going to sort me out!!! But we're all guilty of making excuses, I sent 7 to NFC Fougeres got 6 but dropped my Marmandes winner from last year (473 mile), I posted on here must have been hawked..... starnge he turned up yesterday afternoon, in really good nick with both rubbers still on!!!
