GypUK
Does it matter which way the sputnik face or which way the avairy verander face. I guess south is best for the avairy part but is there a best way to face for the birds to trap into? Cheers
kirky
if your racing south, trap should face south or south east.
mushroom
Birds will trap easier in to a prevailing wind
Wiley
Even racing north the loft should face south east

Guest bigda
mine faces north i fly from the south-but in amongst houses -still get them down you have 3 faults then ,1 the sun is not in your shed, the second the rain is at your shed, the third the wind is at your shed all distractions for resting doos

GypUK
Thanks for all the replies. While I'm asking questions....I've got an 8x6 shed that I'm going to convert into my loft. Am I best to leave it as one area or split it do you think? I'm looking at getting a few racers(not sure how many will work in the shed this size?) just for fun and to learn a bit about training. Cheers.
Guest geordiejen
the loft facing south is best, gets more sunlight and protection from cold north winds.

OLDYELLOW
disagree with the large landing board one cock can own it and stop others trapping

mushroom
A loft does not have to face any way in particular as you can have windows, doors, or ventilation on any side of the loft you choose to suit you and your birds.
