Is This The Worse Run Fed In Britain ?

When we joined this few a few years back it was probably one of the best run feds and had two race controllers that were second to none,this year with other folk taking the head posts over it has turned in to an absolute shambles,at Tewkesbury earlier this year the controllers were over ruled and the race was a disater when about 50% of birds were lost,todays race is going to be another disaster,race controllers ordered birds back to tewkesbury from blandford as there was no chance of a lib there today,they phoned the driver at 13-40 to find out when and if he would get a liberation at tewkesbury or whether he would bring the birds back home and lo and behold the driver told the race controllers they were too cautious and he had decided to keep the birds at Blandford and he has released then at two o'clock.spoke with race controller and he is livid as he had no idea what was going on as he thought the birds were at tewkesbury,the weather on route from blandford is terrible so what more can you say

Wats the point of a race controller if a lorry driver is making the calls unbelievable .

Everyone has there place and everyone in there places , simply if the chain of authority is broken then its everyman for themselves or pure chaos , sometimes what you have is better than change , but takes the change to realise it As for worse run you should hear my rants lol :emoticon-0140-rofl:

that is what we have,and the people that ran it last year retired this year because they had ran the fed for donkeys years and wanted a rest,can see the wheelchairs coming out next year to get them back at the helm

Surely I have read this wrong I cannot believe that a driver can overrule a federation race controller

Tammy I am surprised that the officials are still in a job after the last balls up, terrible decision by them today to over power the race controllers, even if they get a good race its still a terrible decision.

that is most unlikely Gareth as the weather is terrible on route up and the rain is lashing down here and usually we can see for miles down the valley the way the birds come and today we cannot see the bottom of the garden,it is an unbelievable decision,incomprehensible describes it best

Shocking, and there was me thinking that Lanarkshire had problems...lol .. bloody haulage companies and Tachos, and yet there is still some edjits that would prefer to have an artic and a haulage company to that of owning our own 7.5 tonne vehicles.

Is the driver a fancier also? Either way a letter from the members to the committee is in order so things can be done proper, but this is unacceptable!

far as I know driver is just hired for season so not sure if he keeps birds or not

Regardless he must be carpeted!!! And the controller is not blameless either? not strong enuff in character?

1) Check the conveyors mobile phone to check there's been no one other than the race adviser being in contact with him.

 

2) sack him

 

3) withdraw he's conveyor license

We were libbed @Mangotsfield @2pm we have had a shocking race we have got 4/8 its the 2nd bad decision to lib our birds in 3weeks hope you get them back.

I got one bird in from the Tewksbury race and I live near gloucester? Only about 10 miles from lib site, the birds never got out of the area by accounts.

yes ,it just seems to one bad one after another this year although there were no excuses at Carentan,weather from France and mid way up in England the weather was in the birds favour

We held till the sunday Tammy, strong winds on channel they said for saturday.

The bird I reported belonged to a mr. cooper from leek, a very nice gentleman, if you know him say hi and glad his hen got back ok.
