Guest Cornish-Jon91 Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Morning all.. Bad luck hit me last nightLet my 26 young birds, 4 hawks surrounded them and pushed them towards the coast, this morning i have 3 back! Makes you wonder what is the point? Being a student and after just buying ets and a new loft i cant just go and replace these birds.. May aswell just call it a day? Jon.
greenlands Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Serious problems now Jon with Peregrines, before long there will be no wild birds left and a big reduction in pigeon fanciers.I can't see it getting any better, once the small birds have gone there's only one other option for BOP.Really sorry you have lost your young birds,I hope more will return as the day goes on.Best wishes mate. mcgrottys Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Them dirty bas***ter for hawks and the rspb are distroying our sport.sorry to here about your ybs hope you get them back m8.
andy Burgess Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 disaster often strikes . to every problem there is some solution, at times we have to bite the bullet and carry on . i am sure some will return as days pass ,have had a disaster too in the past ,and after first thinking my season was over ,i was encouraged to continue racing .was laughed at by club members who were sending 40 + youngsters every week ,and i carried on sending my 2 hens to the last 5 yb races .... guess who won the yb average that year ?? heres a clue ,it wasnt those club members who were sending 40+ .
trevor9 Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Hi Jon, stick in there m8, the problem in Cornwall is very serious now, about time the RPRA did something positiveinstead of expecting us all to except it, use some of the Blackpool money to get the law altered , and take off the protection the these murderous POP have, otherwise there will be no pigeon racing in the furture, and no Blackpool.I hope more of your y/b's will return in the next few days but do not think of packing in,Good Luck to you Trevor9. Penzance. Cornwall .
Guest IB Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Hope they work back. YBs are very resilient, I've a few been AWOL for 2/3 days & come back unscathed.
Guest paulrstokes Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Keep the faith Jon, they will turn up
