just ask me Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 anything got to do with frank warren i gave up watching years ago the man is a joke and has been for years why do so many of these stupid stories surround his fights all the time also he picks either bad boxers or lads well past there best to fight his fighters just so they can stay unbeaten fairplay to ricky hatton he got away got the big fights allright he lost but would of he got them big fights under warren i dont think so warren would of been happy to see ricky fight another few fights with lads well past there best did roy jones and hopkins run from joe Calzaghe 10 years previous when both were at there best as frank warren would have us believe or was it another marketing ploy from frank what was he really looking for in them contracts that neither jones or hopkins would sign at the time i did hear warren wanted the fight in the uk which made no sense at all as we all know the massive money is in the states vegas etc

just ask me Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 keep thinking boxing cannot sink any lower-----------------then it does!!!! some of the fights in the states do be good mate it costs so much for a seat in the mgm its unreal they have to put on the fights that the fans want or else they don't sell out apart from the pac man and mayweather i cant really think of a big fight where it did not happen in recent years and its only a matter of time till they get in the ring with one another in fairness its down to drug tests not money mayweather is very particular on the amount of tests and types of tests that should be taken before a fight i have to say i agree with him 100% anything to keep the sport clean pacman says that the type of test mayweather wants weakens him before the fight maybe so but anything to keep the sport clean jmo
Roland Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Well considering that 'Fight Fixing' and 'Stumble Bums' have been part and partial of the boxing game since the very first. Even 16 cetuary 'Bare Knuckle' times. As for Ducking and making excuses many so - called greats have a list of those they dodge. Dempsy was diabolical with the excuses they made for him. Yes Calzalge running from the capable ones. Then have they cheek (Boxing news) as classing him as an all time great and Britains best ever... ahead of recent fighters such as Benn / Eubanks/ Collins etc. OK he beat Eubanks on points... but Eubanks was making his third come back and was at a different weight from hs prime of course. I remember when there was '* Stars' against another 20 fighters at Most weight from leightweight upwards. 1 - 5 stars for instance with 20 in each band! That meant 120 fighters in the heavyweights. And one then had to fight an apprentiship! Dave Charnley ducked no one for example, same as others. OK Downes against his old mate Pastrano was just a good pay day given to retire on. But then there was Tiger, Spider Webb... hey names are flooding out here! Pender Robinson, Fuller etc. etc. as I could go through another 20 greats or thought so... How could Anyone in their right mind put Calzge favourite against Monzon, Hagler etc. etc. Yes the 'Nearly Man' as the yanks called him... he nearly fought a body of note with air in it! On the other side he MADE Money which he no doubt - like Hatton' if opponents wern't hand picked! Calzghe only had 'Hand trouble' when it came to fight a real name. etc. etc. Yes the retired Hayes and Chisora are jokes.... But will be paid a few £million!
just ask me Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 collins was irish and beat eubank that was past his best also benn was no way near the same fighter after the tragic McClellan fight i think it was round 3 or 4 where benn shock his head and said im not going back out there we all know thats not nigel benn apart from them two collins really fought no one of note
