try not to let your birds out when the rain stops as bop will be hungry and intent on a kill your young birds wont stand a chance 1hour after prolonged rainfall is when they will be hunting but i would not risk it wait for a break of four hours or so. good luck

jeez they go overhead here evey day rain hail or shine , they must hunt in the rain as it pisses way rain here for weeks at a time :emoticon-0156-rain::emoticon-0156-rain::emoticon-0156-rain:

they will hunt in rain when desperate spars have a high metabolisum and need to feed on a regulary but wet feathers make it slower seen a male spar three times due to let up in rain keep them in

had 2 different sparr hens here today the birds are getting much quicker reacting to the wild bird warning calls , they are striking off and 5 to 10 secs latter the sparr comes charging over the top of loft . its ambush been foiled bye the small birds , it was more percy i see going over the top when its raining for weeks :emoticon-0167-beer:

You are spot on Rab, noticed mine are much more tuned into the wildbirds(as am I to be honest)and are off like a shot. The starlings in my neighbours tree are my new best friends :emoticon-0137-clapping:

I'm a life long "birdie"and am well aware of all alarm calls as are my main mob on open loft but this year is different, mine have been hammered and now they are on lock up

My new best friends are a pair of carrion crows nesting at the top of a fir tree right behind my loft,better still they

have young in the nest now.Havent seen a Sparrowhank round my loft since they started nesting,TOUCH WOOD.Excelent alarm

for the doos.
