Would be interesting to know how members keep their loft records accurate and up to date, the pics are of A-4 size paper which are used to write in the pairs and their offspring's ring numbers. Then at the end of the season i transfer everything into the big book pictured.

The final pics are of pages in the book i use for keeping accurate race records.

How do you keep your records??

My records are quite similar to yours John, I use a new book every year for breeding, one pair/ page and a new book for racing and I do like to see them all home not just the ones in the clock

hi john I use a book similar to yours but once my rings are full i add them to a spreadsheet data base on the computer, it works similar to these pigeon record keeping programs that are going about but I prefer working with a spreadsheet as Im used to using them.

I can look up any bird and its pedigree at the touch of a button.

I wouldn't mind getting mine onto the PC too, one day when i'm no so busy i might set it up. Talking of busy i'm off to work

similar to yourself John ,i write them all down ,when i first started i used the ring numbers to correspond to the parents ,if there last digit was 5 ,used yb ring numbers ending in 5 etc. as for racing ,used to list there return to loft in sequence ,at season end total up the returning numbers and then divide by how many races they had . E.G. 7th ,3rd ,14th ,2nd = 26 divide by 4 races =6.5 and the ones with the lowest numbers stayed in the loft . :emoticon-0138-thinking:
