I am having terrible cat problems this is a new cat on the block that has had 1 of my birds already and visits my loft 3 or 4 times a day i have dogs but it dosent seemed bothered by them it just sits on the loft roof looking at the dogs going off there heads so far i have managed to hit the cat with a couple of tennis balls and a hair brush but it still returns so i have decided to make a cat box to trap the cat but i would like to know is it legal to have a cat/fox box set up in your garden where a couple of neighbours may see it

i wouldnt think so ,but you will have to get it or your seasons finished before its started, your birds will start sitting out and flying all night it happend to me so you know what to do go do it and try hiding trap with a board, its had a kill now and always will be a rogue cat.

Trap and take for long walks in country as homing instinct is pretty poor. Hde trap to make life easier if the wee kitty dusnae fancy a jaunt!

I hate them neighbour has 4 one of there cats got shot in the *expletive removed* wae my air rifle still visits skooshed with water still visits have a beddie still climbs on loft! It totally took the enjoyment out my pigeons couldnt sit at ease with my birds out! I have moved to a compound 2 mile away just to get peace from them.

I would have trapped it but its not legal and the neighbour can see every inch!

Don't get caught pal hope you sort it

It is not legal to trap domestic cats. The two best solutions are 1) electric fence designed for poultry and 2) a cat cage trap which you set overnight with a blanket over it. You will need to be an early riser so that you can go about your business without causing suspicions.

A near neighbour has recently got cats from a cat sanctuary and has let them loose to roam everywhere. I have erected an electric fence which has stopped them coming here. I have also got a cockerel and three hens which are loose in my garden. The cockerel makes a heck of a din right next to her house. Imagine what it will be like when it gets light at 4am and he lets rip right under her bedroom window. If she does not want to control her cats I will happily go and get another cockerel or two to see what she thinks about that.

As a bonus the cockerel is very nasty to humans and it will attack cats but the best thing was that a sparrow hawk attacked my pigeons and missed but landed on the garden away from the loft and the cockerel drove her away. If I had not seen this with my own eyes I would not have believed it.
