i think it depends on many things , you can send a fit cock for 3 or 4 weeks and he isnt far off then ,due to feeding,or weather conditions or ..... many other individual factors ,he reaches his peak. have had them card over 5 weeks . jmo.

I've found the older the pigeon the harder it is to keep the form going, whereas if a yearling hits it he'll keep on coming week after week.

out of interest when do your yearlings start taking to the widowhood method, i find mine dont start coming well until the last 4 or 5 races

 

 

same here was thinking of getting a few trips down the road first to get them in on it basket the older birds and just give them a 2 miler when i take the hens back away from the yearlings :emoticon-0138-thinking:
