deb Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 Hi can anyone reccomened a editing program, were I would be able to remove the backgrounds fom my pigeon photos and replace with a plain background.I have seen some really good photos on here, some with the backgrounds cut and some really nice ones that have been taken useing a photo box.Which was my next question, how on earth do you manage to get a pigeon to stand in these boxes,as I take my hands away, mine bolt towards me. Deb
greenlands Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 Gimp is a free download which quite a few fanciers use and there's adobe photoshop which can be expensive. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ Lindsay

greenlands Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Hi deb, the gimp d/l is in the link,it's a program that I have never used, there is also a user manual in the link.I've just installed it and it seams to work OK. Total d/l 110mb with update. Lindsay. Go to file open go to your selected picture(pigeon) open once it appears on the screen click on the scissor icon in left toolbar go around the pigeons when you’re happy press enter button on your keyboard that should then highlight the area you want then right click on your mouse on the pic go to edit down to copy visible go back to file open find the background pic you have saved open that up click onto background pic right click on mouse again on pic go to edit paste into now you should have your pigeons sat in the background picture you can move the pic around by clicking on the tool bar move icon once you are happy with your picture go to file save as then you will see an option file type click onto that scroll down to you find j peg option press ok save into your folder you won’t it to go into once you have done that then load up photo bucket click on add image once it goes onto that press edit and you can add text and shrink the photo size down to what you want it to be once your happy press save then you have completed your pic.

I looks like just what I was looking for, loads of features. But I am having problems getting a picture on screen.Normally there is a browse button along the top, with all the featues.I have tried right clicking on the image, which give me the option to edit with Gimp, but just takes me to the Gimp page, without the photo to work on.Is there something simple I am missing ? Thanks again Deborah Sorry for the long winded Question As a PM would not go through to you
greenlands Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Sorry Deb,as I said I have never used it and have uninstalled it from my comp.I use photoshop, there might be someone on site that uses it and will help you.If yo get no further with it send me a pm. and I'll come up with something. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gimp+2.6+tutorials+for+beginners&oq=gimp&aq=3&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_sm=c&gs_upl=352l1286l0l5768l3l3l0l0l0l0l429l1036l2-1.0.2l3l0
Guest LBuddle Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 I just tried GIMP but its isn't any better than stuff on Photo Bucket!!All I want to do is Cut the pigeon out of a phoyto and put it on a background. With all these things (photot bucket, GIMP) when you click around the pigeon with the sccisors it doesn't cut it anywhere near how you would like it.HOW CAN I CUT OUT A PIGEON FROM A PHOTO Neatly???
