andy Burgess Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 my late Father raised and trained greyhounds . when i was a small boy back in the sixties , Dad had been away for a week and i was told to go and meet him with the dog,s , crossed the first field OK , into the second field and the dogs seen Dad before i did , whoosh ........ result was a small boy got dragged accross the field at speed , poor Dad had to carry his case and me (in a bit of a mess) home to my Mother
celtic Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Westmead Hawk won two Derbys ! Brett Lee the Aussie dog broke 7 different track records i think, there are many good greyhounds but few great ones. There is a dog in Ireland at the moment that is unbeaten called Milldean Panther...they reckon he is the nexxt superstar, i hope so the sport needs it at the moment.Hail Hail

lastdrop Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I had a good *expletive removed* a few years ago. Merry Tale, bought her on dockside in Larne, caught the same ferry back. She came up through the grades at Poderhall winning more than her share. We also ran her at Shawfield but unfotunately she split a web and had to retire. The "DUGS" are great fun "Expletive removed" translates to "Female dog"
