They are everywhere mate,a hen sparrow hawk round here is decimating all the small birds, most of the ring neck doves have gone there was at least a dozen ,only sea gulls, maggies and crows left.

Good old RSPB what's your next move. :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang:

hens not going to make it.still not eating and is shaking uncontrolably in a pen.think the shock is going to kill it.the cock bird was to be shown at blackpool.i was going to use him to stud a few hens next year.that will be the fourth bird taken from the scheme since late summer.surely we should be able to protect whats ours from these birds.its apparently obvious their is too many in the wild and the countryside is full of them.my thoughts are they should be erradicated from the towns and cities.small bird population has also declined sharply.havent seen a thrush or blackbird yet this year.only starlings and a few blue tits which nest in a box i put up in my tree 3 years ago.every year they raise a brood and i also have wild berry bushes in the garden that they eat.whats the point in helping something when it just becomes food for another.

sorry to hear u lost one of your pigeons to a bop geordiejen, they are a menace and i dont think any fanciers are safe in any areas of the uk from attacks? their numbers are now at saturation point with their offspring carving out new territories for themselves  is there any fanciers on pb that havnt had bop problems?(yet) i hope your hen pulls through as we all know how stressfull it is for them, good luck kev

Bird tables just draw BOP to your garden mate,if you're going to feed wild birds feed them in the hedge out of site, they'll find the food.

good post mate.

hi i know its spoils the pleasure of your birds loft flying but have you thought of outside flight for them.the can sit in winter sun bathe etc, then loft fly from late march when female spar nests you should have a good few months of loft flying without much trouble.

best of luck mate
