kev01293 Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 i know how you feel stew, ive posted on this before but nothing ever changes, ive had the phone put down on me after telling me (not asking me)to move it on,nobody likes having to shell out to couriers but as most of us know some birds wont wont clear on their own and return even after being chucked up miles away,at the end of the day they are their birds not ours so why should we be left with the problem? the least fanciers can do is return phone calls especially when the finder has gone to the trouble of caring for hawked/injured birds, that said ive met some great fanciers who have collected their birds but unfortunately they are in the minority,i collected one of my yb,s from southampton and the woman(a non fancier)was told not to bother reporting it as we never want them back if they get lost, kev

Roland Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 £40 a time to get one back help your fellow fancier out for goodness sakegive them an option if they want it back great but don't force it on someone who can't afford it A very good realistic post! Two minds... even the governing bodies are arsked to take action. But it depends on the owning fanciers attitude surely. If they answer quickly, and are ok with it / you, but would rather - like many actually just release it up the road, (which gives another a problem)or wishes it to be gone, then yes help out. The reality is very many struggle to keep their sport alive, let alone afford the cost of losing them. Yes can scarley afford to keep, but definately not able to afford to lose any! Simple realistic fact that! Before anyone spouts rubbish about 'Then they shouldn't keep them in the first place, I ask 'Why'! It is a love of the sport that makes 95% keeping birds in the first place. Further when change happens we will want and need them. And let me just add that those who are struggling are often the very ones supporting and holding the club / Fed together... Yesd the very ones most likely the same ones that the whinger is only too happy to beat most weeks. Mind this doesn't in anyway distract the shame of the ignorant gits that don't bother to reply till they have too.... then I scare the crap out of them via threathening to sent the bird 'Cash on Delivery' ... if only it was viable and fair to the courier eh! :emoticon-0138-thinking: P.s. I travell upto and just over 100 miles to retrieve mine.... gives me and the wife a day out and is cheaper, but then I have time.
