just ask me Posted August 15, 2011 Author Report Posted August 15, 2011 Name and Shame !!!! and if he deny's it tell him to get tested to prove otherwise its more than likely after spreading though his loft now hes a quite lad does not really want any bother
OLDYELLOW Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 go to small claims court and claim compensation is only other way , but be very hard to collect any evidence , or send a few friends round to have a word but i do think other potential buyer should be warned !!!!
Guest IB Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 IMO thats the biggest risk you run when you bring in new stock. And it is always difficult to tell if it's your birds that have infected them while in your loft - or the other way round? IMO that's also the biggest risk of self-treating serious stuff like paratyphoid - just how do you know for certain you had it & that you've cured it?
Roland Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Pessimistic me fears that they are more lofts with carriers than not, by far. Ok, of course, every loft has it's on Virus / bugs that their' own pigeons are immuned to. This is part and partial to the fancy now of course. Tis why so many only buy back their' birds at Breeder / buyers sales etc. And this can give a wrong slant to the former fancier whose pigeons quickly get sick / ill in new surroundings. Indeed it is what many are still striving to achieve, birds with good constitutions and strong immunities... Jmo. Seen/heard many clubs have been desicrated this season with Salmonella. What is worse some still send them to the races! They believe that those effected staying at home is good enough, and the others that aren't showing any signs are free - never heard of carriers. Indeed a fellow in one of the clubs I'm in stated that they styill win in show pens, and race well!
budgie Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 You only have to look at the Trend within your own Club which tells you the ones that should not be racing never mind selling and dont forget the 98% Rule
