Hi,

I am 20, from Hampshire in the Uk. I am thinking about getting some pigeons to keep in a shed I am building. I am not looking to get into racing yet, but for some reason I am drawn to the ancient art of keeping pigeons.

I currently work on a farm where they have loads of old racing pigeons which have landed ( probably exhausted) over the years, and roosted in the barns. Once there were far too many and my boss told his son to shoot all the feral looking ones, but leave the white ones. Half an hour later there were no white ones left!

I've got a question if someone can help please.

I am building a 10 x 8 shed, and want to cordon off an area for 3 pairs. What problems could I face if they were free ranging/flying using a small pop hole on the apex of the roof?

thanks guys,

first of all wellcome to the site ask as may questions as you like as most on hear will help, birds should be ok with a small bob hole but it might be wise to make a small averiy over it untill the birds get used to it going in and out.
