aye ready Posted July 23, 2011 Author Report Posted July 23, 2011 Yer not too bad at that.It was a cracking day on the face of it as well Whats yer thoughts on the cause of the low vel. and patchy returns ?? heard there are birds in at the expected time lewis just after the the hour and a haf and as always you get birds that escape what happened as i said on another post an aberdeen doo came with one of mine at haf five so it's possible the aberdeen birds with the north wind have went south and caught later liberations coming north,i'm not saying this is what happened but it is a possibility with the aberdeen boys having a hard time of it today

aye ready Posted July 23, 2011 Author Report Posted July 23, 2011 Hi Martin, Saxa vord pigeons were doing 2000ypm but Im not sure if they would have clashed as they would be going over Fife around 11.30am ish. But ye just never know the thing that puzzles me derek is that there wasn't a glut of doos at the start which possibly means that they never got off to a good start our convoyer told me the birds cleared north immediately then they waitd to watch the central liberation then he phoned me to tell me that there was more pigeons flying around the coldstream lib site than the central fed liberated so to me some of the north westhave turned
Delboy Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Yb racing is a mystery nowadays, one disaster after another with clashing, bop and y.b.sickness the 3 main contributors to the birds not returning. Funnily enough, if we wanted to, we could probably fix at least 2 of these obstacles.
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 dow to 8 now lewis 2 in the last haf hour Good stuff Martin. Its a nice night wouldnae be surprised if more turn up tonight fer ye I've never been to an airshow so don't really know the ins and outs of it.The show started at 12,would planes and jets be arriving at this thing all morning or goin on practice flights etc.?? I only ask this is as I've seen first hand the effects they jets have on doos.Very occasionally theres low flying fighter jets come down over Avonbrig in line wi Limerigg.Years ago we had a team ae doos out on a Thursday night before the race, this thing tore by them it was the next day before we saw some of them again It could just be another one of they mystery races that gets talked about on here.Seemingly perfect race conditions but far from perfect racing.Could've done without the NW wind for the first YB race
