sapper756 Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Real MadridvsBarcelona Once again, these two hammer it out in the first leg of the semi final, this should be a good football match to watchhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0137-clapping.gifJose rejects favourites tag Form out the window for Champions League tie, says Madrid boss http://img.skysports.com/11/04/660x350/Tottenham-v-Real-Madrid-Jose-Mourinho-Stubble_2585239.jpgReal Madrid boss Jose Mourinho believes there are no favourites ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg tie with Barcelona on Wednesday. Barca boss Pep Guardiola claims Madrid hold the upper hand due to their recent form, with a 6-3 win at Valencia following their Copa del Rey success over their Catalan rivals. Madrid also held Barca to a draw in a recent league meeting, but Mourinho claims form goes out the window when the two sides meet on the European stage. "For me there are no favourites," he responded. "It's the Champions League semi-finals - two rival teams who know each other very well. "Two teams with long traditions, two teams whose players know what it is to be successful, who know how to win things and play big matches. "For me there aren't any favourites here," he reiterated. "I am exactly the same coach who lost 5-0 to Barcelona and I don't have any magic potion. " Jose Mourinho "Maybe tonight after the match people will say that perhaps one team is slightly ahead of the other, but at the moment before playing the match, my opinion is there are no favourites." PIGEON_MAN Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Think this one going to be a very tight match no one giving much away, could go late into the second half with just one goal in it,but to who?
Roland Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I think there will be at least 5 goals scored. Possibly 3-2 to Bacelona. But think strangely enough I believe it will be Real in the final. JMO.
sapper756 Posted April 28, 2011 Author Report Posted April 28, 2011 Messi magic inspires Barca Real left to rue Pepe red card in ugly semi-final showdown http://img.skysports.com/11/04/496x259/Lionel-Messi-Real-Madrid-Barcelona-Champions-_2590422.jpg Lionel Messi gave Barcelona control over 10-man Real Madrid after a bad-tempered UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg which was far from El Clasico at times. The Argentina ace saved his best for last as he made it 2-0 in the 87th minute with his 52nd goal of an astonishing season, and he may not have scored too many better. The diminutive playmaker picked up possession inside Real's half before accelerating away from three incoming defenders, sidestepping two more, drawing Iker Casillas and rolling the ball into the far corner of the net. Messi had fired home the opener in the 76th minute when he converted substitute Ibrahim Afellay's excellent cross from close range. An ugly encounter, which was peppered with play-acting, petty fouls and hounding of the officials, finally boiled over in the 61st minute with Pepe perhaps unfortunate to see red for raising his foot as Dani Alves went to clear. Real coach Jose Mourinho was immediately sent to the stands for questioning referee Wolfgang Stark's decision, with both teams guilty of using every tactic at their disposal in an attempt to gain an advantage.

JohnQuinn Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Jose Mourihno's motto is Win At All Costs, when he faces a superior opponent his players try to stink the game out and maybe snatch a winner on the break. They done it in the cup final when Ronaldo scored in extra time to win the cup. That was perfection in Jose's eyes, just how he planned it. GREAT manager that he is though, i canny see how he can overcome Barcelona.......BUT football is a Funny Old Game!!

sapper756 Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 Barcelona v Madrid Spanish giants aim to let their feet do the talking at Camp Nou http://img.skysports.com/11/04/218x298/Lionel-Messi-Real-Madrid-Barcelona-Champions-_2590430.jpg Barcelona and Real Madrid will both be looking to restore their reputations as they meet for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night. The match at the Camp Nou is the fourth 'El Clasico' in 18 days and follows last Wednesday's ill-tempered first leg at the Bernabeu. Real coach Jose Mourinho and Barca boss Pep Guardiola were involved in a war of words in the build-up, and an eagerly-anticipated match was marred by numerous flashpoints on and off the field, while the aftermath has been even worse, with bickering, claims and counter-claims tarnishing the image of two proud clubs. Mourinho has emerged with the least credit, with his comments showing his desperation after Barca won 2-0 to put one foot in the final, held at Wembley on 28th May. Mourinho was sent from the technical area for complaining about the second-half dismissal of defender Pepe and, after the game, he claimed there is a refereeing conspiracy in favour of Barca. Real lodged an official complaint with Uefa about the behaviour of Barca players during the first leg, and in turn, the Catalan club lodged a complaint over Mourinho's comments while considering legal action against the Portuguese boss. And Barca captain Xavi has now criticised Real for their manipulation of the Bernabeu pitch both last Wednesday and prior to their league game on 16th April.http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/scotland.gifhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/scotland.gifhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/scotland.gif
