Guest bigda Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 i think with deadlines passing. and no word ever from the owner buyer and the seller, i think this is a no no, again as i say if this was to happen the ink would have been dry a long time ago this talk only appears when accounts have to be submitted, feel sorry for the Ger's fans, who live in hope and as for guys flying in so late in the weeks of dealings i find it very strange indeed, i think it is murray and paper talk we have here and for by wee chick would have peed his pants by now telling you all about the deal if true

sapper756 Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 According to tonight,s Scottish news; Rangers 'could go under' if tax case goes against themScottish champions have published their interim financial results with a warning from chairman Alastair Johnston. The chairman of Rangers FC fears the club could go bust if a tax case goes against the Scottish champions - although the club has now tried to clarify his remarks. The latest set of accounts, published on Friday, came as Alastair Johnston criticised the club’s bankers for restricting manager Walter Smith in his final season in charge as manager. Rangers are facing a tax case related to an employee renumeration scheme on which income tax was not paid during the 1990s. Announcing the results on Friday, Mr Johnston agreed that the club could go bust if the case went against the club. He said it was not clear who would be liable for any penalties. Rangers have accepted a £2.8m charge from HMRC relating to a separate issue - which will be reflected in the next accounts. http://files.stv.tv/img/articles/240551-rangers-debt-rises-to-29m-200.jpgWhen asked if the club's very existence was under threat if the case went against Rangers, he said: "The reality is that 'is it possible?' Yes. There could be a judgement... and at the point the club can't pay. There is a point in time you can't pay and accessing all the resources, yes you couldn't pay. I think even as a Celtic fan, this is bad news for Scottish football, a league without any of the old firm, would be disastrous. JMO

JMOSpot on m8 If Rangers or Celtic were to go down it would have a domino effect and would spell the end for the whole SPL.The old firm is the only reason there is any tv money in the Scottish game.
