Henrik Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Better wait till she has ybs,all birds not the same some break easier than others so may be better when she has ybs, jmo

Guest Dorset-lad Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 they have a YB in the nest and shes laying her 2nd round of eggs now how far do you have to go and get her if she goes off
DJWa Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 they have a YB in the nest and shes laying her 2nd round of eggs now to be honest if your needing her next y/bs why risk losing her just nowwait till you have what you want off her then let her lay again then try her and i wouldnt let the cock out again either till you have what you need off him and let him out with the hen a single target is easy pickings for a sparrow hawk jmo dave
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Depends on how much you value the birds,if you have the room for prisoners keep them in until you know how the youngsters have done off them.
lvlasked Posted March 8, 2011 Author Report Posted March 8, 2011 point is i dont want no prisoners in my loft i want all my birds flying out but yer i understand what people saying
Guest IB Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 point is i dont want no prisoners in my loft i want all my birds flying out but yer i understand what people saying I agree with what others are saying about the second round YBs, no point in risking them, so try the hen later. Meanwhile I'd keep the cock going out. He will be your ace card when it comes to schooling your YBs, and he will also break the hen - when the time is right.
lvlasked Posted March 8, 2011 Author Report Posted March 8, 2011 lmao my 2 ybs that are out schooled him they all come in when i call them with no problems

I thought they were still in the nest.
billt Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 I think newbies should concentrate on breeding a decent kit of young birds and worry about breaking birds at a later date, you're only making problems for yourself
lvlasked Posted March 8, 2011 Author Report Posted March 8, 2011 there not his ybs his chick in his nest he was out today and was fine just sat on the shed roof and i dont allow them on the house roof they get a tennis ball up on the roof
