Tony C Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Clubs and not individuals are members of a fed. Cant see how a fed can ban an individual.

billt Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Thought the joy of living in a democratic country was that you could voice your opinion
OLDYELLOW Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Appeal against it but club / fed business should be dealt with at meetings not on here , so without knowing what they were upset about hard to say
tiger Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 Thought the joy of living in a democratic country was that you could voice your opinion apparently not
Guest IB Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 All the Moderators on this forum do remind members from time to time to be careful in what they say on it. The organisation that I work for also issued similar advice to its employees to be careful what they say about it when on social networking sites (like this one). So I think its far more involved. IMO its about maintaining reputation and good name. Organisations have spent years building these, and I think they have a right to expect that their members / employees shouldn't drag its private business through the muck in public. There is a proper place to criticise your club or Fed and that is at their meetings, that's the proper place / forum, and that's the only place where you'll get things changed.

frank-123 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 don't mind people blowing a bit of steam off once and again but a constant level of abuse should not be tolerated by the moderator's or federations
Guest IB Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 everyone has the right of opinion whether they like it or not , jmo I'm not disagreeing with you, but voicing an opinion in the wrong place can have consequences - like getting the speaker suspended. That applies in different walks in life: can get you barred from the pub, thrown in the cop-shop, or if in court, thrown in cells.
Guest strapper Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 to be banned/suspended then it would have had to be liable/deformatory or other.voicing your opinion wouldnt just get you banned...fanciers MUST understand that the internet is accountable in a court of law and when you text on here, then you are putting yourself under scrutiny by these feds/unions.

frank-123 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 would be hard to prove who wrote the text the fed would be on a loser a letter of warning must come first i would imagine
Guest bigda Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 yes, and if the fed gets it wrong, there are a few lawyers out there that will put your fed out the game. and there are plenty that will test out the water, lawyers and 2 year cases, are of no shame to them the publican is the only one i know of that has a right to ban you for no reason and dose not require to give one
tiger Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 in my opinion everyone is entitled 2 fair hearin as per rule book what ive been told they did not do that ? but we wait 2 see what the govern body does ?
Guest IB Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 in my opinion everyone is entitled 2 fair hearin as per rule book what ive been told they did not do that ? but we wait 2 see what the govern body does ? Apologies, as I assumed that the case had gone through proper 'due process' - that the person had had a hearing, knew why the hearing had been called, what the allegations were, and had been given a chance to explain / defend. Only after that can sanction be imposed - no, you can't just suspend someone and yes, it's subject to final ratification by governing body & appeal processes.

Truth is something which comes after fact & evidence proves it to be the truth. Because 'X' says so, or because 'Y' posted it, doesn't prove it to be so. Just the same as making allegations in the street, or in writing, making allegations on a forum is Actionable, both against the person making those allegations, and the owners of the Website for making it public. That's why the Forum Rules prohibit this, and Moderators remove posts & threads containing it. So again, if you drag your club's private business through the mud in any public place, the club is within its rights to take action. A forum is a public place.

IAN you always seem to get things mixed up THERE IS SUCH A THING IS TRUTH and if the truth hurts to bad but if any i repeat any organisation takes action against a member for telling the truth they could find that its them that could feel the back lash as you should know in the past WITH THE SNFC who would like to go back to paying your birds by CASH THEN HAVING TO HAVE AUCTIONS AND COLLECTIONS RAFFELS QUIZES ETC TO KEEP OUR GREAT CLUB GOING and i am not afraid to say in the recent problems which i am sure your well aware of regarding false positions in NATIONAL RESULTS they had to tread carefully otherwise the out come would have been diferent as i said truth hurts and in my personal opinion the truth has been swiped under the carpet to many times if its not true dont print any s&ite
budgie Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Regrettably thats why fanciers leave certain organisations and fly with others. You cannot get Hung for telling the truth and support should be given to the fancier or fanciers in question.
