hawked again Posted January 23, 2011 Author Report Posted January 23, 2011 Thanks everybody for your answers, does anybody know how long after the low battery warning we have before it dies? There's no warnings yet but they're four years old now.

Guest Davy Fleming Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 PROBABLY GET MOST OF THE SEASON OUT OF A FLASHING BATTERY BUT WOULD SEE ABOUT IT ASAP AND 5 YEARS IS THE RECOMMENDED TIME FOR A BATTERY
hawked again Posted January 23, 2011 Author Report Posted January 23, 2011 Thanks DJWa and Davy, looks like the club have a bit breathing time, there's no warnings yet!
THE FIFER Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Its the pocket clock which has a battery and will through time nedd replacing and must go to the makers for this, its the pocket clock which needs a battery,
Williedoo Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 It costs £75 to replace the battery in a Unikon base station
hawked again Posted January 25, 2011 Author Report Posted January 25, 2011 Its the pocket clock which has a battery and will through time nedd replacing and must go to the makers for this, its the pocket clock which needs a battery, So is there no battery in the base unit? I've been told by one of the Inverness lads that went to the blackpool show that the Unicon man quoted £75:00 to change 2 batteries. That's a lot of dosh for our club. There will be a few quid for postage and insurance on top of that so could take it up to maybe £90:00 for each set and we have 11 and the master. 12 times £90:00 is over a grand and we spent about £600:00 on rings last year. I'm glad I kept my STB.
Williedoo Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 My mate took his base station to Blackpool and he had to give them £75 to replace battery in it, I think that includes postage back.So there must be a battery in the base station.
nogin Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 i opened my base alf and didnt see a battery unless its soldered onto the circuit board WHY OPEN THE BASE STATION ... THAT'S NOT RIGHT
DJWa Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 WHY OPEN THE BASE STATION ... ALF Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 How old do you think the battery was that needed changing. Tony the battery in my base station needed changing after approx 4 yrs thats why they did it for free mate Alan
Williedoo Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 How old do you think the battery was that needed changing. He's had it since it was passed to use by the SHU, so is that 6-7 years.
The Grass Cutter Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 WHY OPEN THE BASE STATION ... THAT'S NOT RIGHT YOU ARE RIGHT. NOW THAT HE HAS BROKEN THE SECURITY SEALS ON THE BASE UNIT TECHNICALLY THE BASE UNIT CANNOT BE USED. THANK GOODNESS HE DID NOT REMOVE THE SECURITY PLATE. IF HE HAD THE BASE UNIT WOULD HAVE BEEN RUINED. IF ANY ONE HAS A BASE UNIT THAT IS NOT YET 5 YEARS OLD AND THE LOW BATTERY WARNING IS FLASHING RETURN IT TO UNIKON. IF THIS OCCURS DURING A RACE PRESS THE GREEN OK BUTTON BEFORE THE BIRDS ARRIVE FROM THE RACE. PHONE ME ON 07766904506 AND I WILL GIVE YOU A LOAN OF A UNIT UNTIL YOURS COMES BACK FROM SPALDING. FOR GOODNESS SAKE, NOBODY BREAK THE SEALS OR THE HOLOGRAMS ON THE UNITS!
