Thanks everybody for your answers, does anybody know how long after the low battery warning we have before it dies? There's no warnings yet but they're four years old now.

PROBABLY GET MOST OF THE SEASON OUT OF A FLASHING BATTERY BUT WOULD SEE ABOUT IT ASAP AND 5 YEARS IS THE RECOMMENDED TIME FOR A BATTERY

Its the pocket clock which has a battery and will through time nedd replacing and must go to the makers for this,

its the pocket clock which needs a battery,

So is there no battery in the base unit? I've been told by one of the Inverness lads that went to the blackpool show that the Unicon man quoted £75:00 to change 2 batteries. That's a lot of dosh for our club. There will be a few quid for postage and insurance on top of that so could take it up to maybe £90:00 for each set and we have 11 and the master. 12 times £90:00 is over a grand and we spent about £600:00 on rings last year. I'm glad I kept my STB.

My mate took his base station to Blackpool and he had to give them £75 to replace battery in it, I think that includes postage back.

So there must be a battery in the base station.

water got into it

opened to dry off

wasnt going to be used till a new battery was fitted and re sealed anyway

dont see a prob with opening it as you can look in any other clock

when its not in use/ do you not run your stb/t3 etc over the winter months

just get your clock setter to check and re seal 2 weeks before you use it

YOU ARE RIGHT. NOW THAT HE HAS BROKEN THE SECURITY SEALS ON THE BASE UNIT TECHNICALLY THE BASE UNIT CANNOT BE USED. THANK GOODNESS HE DID NOT REMOVE THE SECURITY PLATE. IF HE HAD THE BASE UNIT WOULD HAVE BEEN RUINED. IF ANY ONE HAS A BASE UNIT THAT IS NOT YET 5 YEARS OLD AND THE LOW BATTERY WARNING IS FLASHING RETURN IT TO UNIKON. IF THIS OCCURS DURING A RACE PRESS THE GREEN OK BUTTON BEFORE THE BIRDS ARRIVE FROM THE RACE. PHONE ME ON 07766904506 AND I WILL GIVE YOU A LOAN OF A UNIT UNTIL YOURS COMES BACK FROM SPALDING. FOR GOODNESS SAKE, NOBODY BREAK THE SEALS OR THE HOLOGRAMS ON THE UNITS!
