Speaking to a friend he was saying that if you have birds with loose/runny droppings a good thing to tighten them up is the following:-

Boil rice (enough for a meal!), then collect the water it was boiled in and add it to 1 or 2 litres of tap water, then give it to the birds for a few days and this should tighten up the droppings!!!

Have any of you tried this??

Why Rice??.

Possibly the starch from the rice helps bind their droppings. Arrowroot pulped up and boiled then added to the drinker is another old remedy.

I would agree it will be the high level of starch that will bind them up
