Hello all,

Letting nature take its course for 5 seasons in your loft, disposing of everything that gets sick.

Why? After 5 seasons the doos in your lofts will be robust, strong and in no need of any immunity boosters

How nice to read a sensible post after all this rubbish spoken, I presume you treat your family the same, if not, why not? I am talking to the users of unnecessary medication

Probiotic is NOT medication. In the real (wild) world birds have accsess to a lot of things our birds do not including natural probiotics in berries, fruits etc. This is the only "product" I use and as John Quinn says, natural immunity is paramount and birds of poor general health should be removed to build a strong line of natural immunity. Pro-biotics are natural bacteria essential in bird health especially under stress be it racing, breeding or showing. It quickly replaces the lost bacteria during stressfull conditions and yes, my family do take probiotics especially after being ill so what's your problem?

That's good but not everyone can have this so needs must. I still say your birds would still benefit from pro-bo's when under stress. :)

Stress is a gateway to illness. The quicker we can get a pigeon to recover from over exertion the less chance it'll go backwards. I wouldn't call helping a pigeon to recover quicker 'propping up'. Years ago pigeons were given Johnsons Restorer/Tonic so you could say aiding a pigeon to recover is nothing new, Probiotics is just another step forward.

primlac

i used it this season past did it make my pigeons any better don't know

but it keeps my mind at peace

I agree with you a lot of fanciers use these things, but don't see any difference

in the birds, its only to pacify themselves that it does what it says on the tin.
