Looking at getting ETS for next season and am wanting to get the most user friendly and cost effective system.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm sure there has been a topic similar to this but i cant find it so if anyone has a link to said topic that would be appreciated as well.

Just looking for peoples opinions and advice.

Thanks in advance

Ronnie.

Ps.To all those against ets its either that or stop racing because of work commitments .The missus will get em in but wont clock em for me.

Thanks again

I have had my system now for about 5 seasons and wouldnt be without it as I to work being self imployed, but I am not going to say that my system is any better than anyone elses as they all do the same thing some slightly differant from others,at the end of the day it is down to our own preferance, most systems will provide free club eqipment but you will have to convince others in your club to get it also as you cant do everything yourself, all try and get the same system as it makes it so much easier for everyone concerned,if you can try and get to the big shows and see the differant systems for yourself and then decide.

benzing the most cost effective and simple to use i have found and they will supply a free club system to first member in the club to buy one our club got them last year very simple i think cost of them has now started to go up look at them all and decide for yourself as them all for a demo

Try to get what the others in your club have,, you should get any system for under £300.. It all depends how many entrances you have,, this is what adds up..

the more traps you have the more expensive it,, this is for the same time trapping,, you can move pads between lofts..

Rings are going up every year and this will be the biggest drain on anyone with ets,,

best of luck

I purchased a Tauris system, with the additional data memory pack, this will then send you a txt message with ring number and time, every time a bird clocks in, it also stores info so if you remove the clock to go to club the info of birds arriving is still stored, handy if competing in two races, must say for me personaly it s the best money I have spent, its really user friendly, and as I work most Saturdays I can still race and look forward to getting an early txt lol, its also very handy when training.

Not really the best but "most cost effective" IMO, and thats the Benzing, i paid 250 euros for a new system, including clock, 2 pads, club system and 30 rings.

ronnie i use bricon and the rest bar one uses unikon in my club .i can either use bricon master to put my birds on or the unikon master makes no difference.but if they want to use the bricon master they have to bring the loft unit to the basket hut and not just the memory unit.i assign all my members club rings to their ets rings, with both systems i use a pc to do this job but if you are not computer literate -with the bricon you can assign rings with your speedy clock like sending a text with your mobile.as for having problems on basket night i have rang mark palmer on basket night and he has answered and sorted my prob not like other ets hot lines on a friday night.cost of a race ready unit is approx half others .ask mark if there is going to be a demo in your area as he or an agent will have more time to show you about the system this goes for all the manufacturers as at b/pool its so busy.have a look at the different ets rings availablethe new bricon one slots straight into the belgian ring[and we i think will end up with this style of rings as the gb one proved sh-te.

UNIKON HAVE ALREADY ASKED FOR A MAINTENANCE FEE FOR THE LOAN MASTER UNIT [NOT COMPULSARY YET]

your main worry is if you dont have power 240 volts on a friday night as printers that run off a 12v inverter are poor to say the least and laser ones dont work on inverters.

BEST THING YOU WILL BUY FOR YOUR Y/BIRDS ESPECIALLY.

YOURS IN SPORT.

Been told that "free masters" will need to be insured for £70 per year and have to be returned yearly for "maintenance" - would not want too many systems in a club if this is true!!!!!

since 5 guys bought unikon in my club i have not used my bricon master even at open race my bricon speedy was conected to a unikon base for basketing that is what they are compatable for.

We have the same two systems in our club but I allways keep them separate, everything will be fine only using one marker until something goes wrong then you can guarentee that each systems makers will say its the other one thats causing the trouble.

well what happens if the bricon master fails will you rubber or try race marking with the unikon-if you intend to use the unikon disconnect the unikon clock base and connect to the ringer useing your black lead the rest is easy but when you print it will only give 2 copies just go back in to basketing and then end same and it will print another 2 copies.also go onto the speedy while at home and program your race points into it similar to what you did on the master,or it will ask race 1 scroll along race2 and so on.

i have also used this cross connect every wednesday for all mid week races.

but if it suits you to carry 2 masters then ok.
