HI EVERYONE, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS, PICTURES OR DESIGNS ON MAKING AN ETS TRAP

Posted

ITS TO FIT ON THE FULL WINDOW OF THIS LOFT, ITS THE LOFT AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE IS NO WINDOW

Posted

here is the ones we make.. very easy to do,, It is a box with a small compartment on the bottom for the pad to be slid in.. the best thing about them is they cost nowt,, the bob wires cost a little but we had them from previous traps..

best of luck

Mine is fixed inside of a drop board which folds down inside the loft. The drop board is constructed in 6mm plywood and the antenae is sandwiched between two pieces.  In addition, there is a landing board, which folds down, outside the loft. The birds drop onto to that and enter through a window. It is important for me that the drop boards are able to be folded down because the inside one takes up space in the corridor and the outside one would tempt the cocks to land from exercise before I want them to. I don't like contraptions for trapping because it is likely to slow things down. I get my speed by placing a couple of peanuts on the inside board every time the birds enter.

These days the birds literally drop onto the inside board bypassing the outside board. It would be impossible to trap them quicker. Another advantage I get is the fact that the incoming cocks can see the hens as they come in. The hens can usually see the cocks coming and start to play up before the cock has even landed. It all helps.

Sorry Bilboe, I am pretty new to this computer and I don't know how to send pictures yet. If you like I will try to draw what I use and send it to you by e-mail or something. I will need my wife or my mate to do the tricky bits. Let me know.

All depends if its to fit a stall trap or a sputnik trap, i have both made up.
you dont need anything to fit a sputnik just put pad inside sputnik cover with a thin sheet of ply, and no need for bob wires.

kwango, I hope you know that what you seem to be doing is against the rules. The pads are suposed to be within the confines of the loft.

Our Club Officials chech for things like that. I am in the WHPU

mine is built into the roof of my loft as i fly in the back garden and my birds always land on top of the loft roof and go straight in

Appears to be against the rules mate, you need to get that checked before it catches you out.

I have mine screwed on the underside of my sputnicks, it saves re-flooring the sputnick and takes minutes to fit. The rings can be read as the 12mm ply doesnt effect them in any way. hope this helps.

that would be illegal ( R.P.R.A  rules ) as outside the sputnik so ineffect not within the confines of the loft or trapping system

mine is in side of the roof so it is  perfectly legal as its in the confines of the loft

Not really mate if it can clock the pigeon when it is on the roof of the loft now is it?
