b.massey Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 If it goes to answer machine just leave message about name, address and how many for each class, IE 3birds class 1 and so on
dal2 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 If it goes to answer machine just leave message about name, address and how many for each class, IE 3birds class 1 and so on Why no flown handled classes?
b.massey Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 Just what the show committe agreed as classes mate.. Last year was a real sucess for the flown birds in 500 miles classes. Top national men judging at show

JohnQuinn Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Likeliest classes historically get a better entry than flown classes so it makes sense to have the classes this way.
dal2 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Likeliest classes historically get a better entry than flown classes so it makes sense to have the classes this way. Not quite the prestige tho john me thinks
alec guinness Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Why no flown handled classes? sign of the times mate, lothian and fauldhouse still have 300ml flown classes, they have recently done away with the 500ml classes.
dal2 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 sign of the times mate, lothian and fauldhouse still have 300ml flown classes, they have recently done away with the 500ml classes. Mind you mate I canny say much. Back in the day I had the supreme champ at fauldhouse wae a red Kirkpatrick that had done a couple o laps o the garden once
JohnQuinn Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 There is a bit of truth in that but its ONLY a show so the fun of it and the crack with other guys is what i look for at them. I know the showmen are serious about it and power to them but for racing men its a chance to relax and have some fun. jmo

alec guinness Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Mind you mate I canny say much. Back in the day I had the supreme champ at fauldhouse wae a red Kirkpatrick that had done a couple o laps o the garden once :D well done, have never been lucky enough to have had the supreme champion, but won the 500ml class a few years ago with a cock that won 1st west section snfc gold cup.was fair chuffed. :)
dkj Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 :D well done, have never been lucky enough to have had the supreme champion, but won the 500ml class a few years ago with a cock that won 1st west section snfc gold cup.was fair chuffed. :) must have been a good judge
blaz Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Just what the show committe agreed as classes mate.. Last year was a real sucess for the flown birds in 500 miles classes. dal2 Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 :D well done, have never been lucky enough to have had the supreme champion, but won the 500ml class a few years ago with a cock that won 1st west section snfc gold cup.was fair chuffed. :) Top notch. Its a crazy game showin as well. Won the channel class at peterlee and had three on the specials table. Judge(who will remain nameless) awarded best in show tae the selling class, had bos and byb, gutted.
Andrew suckle Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Why no flown handled classes?its so that all the guys way so called racers can show.No wonder the shows are falling apart
alec guinness Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 must have been a good judge yep top judge.
b.massey Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 its so that all the guys way so called racers can show.No wonder the shows are falling apart Untrue... It is so we can get both flown and unflown birds. We are starting a new show and want to get as many entries as possible. We could have added flown classes and got around 20-25 birds per class. Keep it open to both and we will look towards 40-50 per class. makes sense to us the show organisers

b.massey Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 well a know a would not have ma racers in they classes.doos thats flew 2,3,4,5 hundred miles have not got a look in they usless half show doos sat in loft all summer and done nothing.thats how they wont be much raceing men there cause its classes like them thats killing the shows. All down to judge... Birds that won last year had flew race programme!! So dont see your point? We need to cater for both sides of the sport. We are trying to get a big show going in Scotland as they are all falling apart around us? Edinburgh never had any classes to cater for un flown birds! Where is it this year?? Exactly.. So saying having likliest classes is killing the shows is the most un found statement I have heard.. We will have top class fanciers judging so am sure they know what they are looking for!
b.massey Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 Also D Mathieson and son (your uncle if I remember) does very well with racers in both sides of flown and unflown so he proves it can be done
merrysilver Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 well a know a would not have ma racers in they classes.doos thats flew 2,3,4,5 hundred miles have not got a look in they usless half show doos sat in loft all summer and done nothing.thats how they wont be much raceing men there cause its classes like them thats killing the shows. There was over 500 birds in last years show,It was supported very well by the racing men with racing classes being very busy. The cock that won the likeliest 500 mile class is one of the best pigeons flying in Rosewell Pigeon club and has several firsts under his belt. Top class racing Pigeon!!!.
