we all know that pigeons burn more energy in the winter months because they need to keep body heat so what grains and stuff are needed to keep the birds with good body weight and then condition them into next years breeding.i was thinking of buying a bag of barley to mix with my mixture of breed and wean but not too sure what grains have higher energy content?

Everything I,ve got left over from racing goes into my mix for winter, Beans, barley G10 pellets, widowhood, young bird, trapping and conditioner,if I use that up I will get A good moulting mix or winter mix from the local corn shop when its all gone.

Much the same here, at the moment, super diet, high protein mix, redband and Mutine Plus. Then just Mutine Plus through the winter and not too much.
