ribble Posted September 7, 2010 Report Share Posted September 7, 2010 They are good for feed and water. The ones i have, have a cap on the base that you take of for using food any grain is ok. To stop the birds sorting through the food and scattering it you can place some wire mesh in the bottom above the feed level. They can get there beak through to feed but can't flick it about. Guest peter4pm Posted September 7, 2010 Report Share Posted September 7, 2010 ive used them for both ...but dont think filling them full of feed is any good as it doesnt drop down out the globe uless its very small...best for water i think ,though i refill mines every day i nevver leave it for days on end ..its emptied and cleaned and filled back up....
