funny you should say rest derek my birds never had a race but were trained all over

peebles, edinburgh abington elsrickle the thing is they were getting split on most tosses so i would leave them the following day as i thought the birds would be tired

consett race i won four fed tickets food for thought?

Point of interest, years ago we never trained ybs after first race. They were happier, less stress, less disease. ;) The answer is there for everybody to see, dont be afraid to change things because the fact of the matter is, if you do the same as you always did, you will get the same results as you always did. ;) Im getting drunk now and loose at the mooth as they say :D:D

Ive tried all the different training Frank, ybs with obs in May,tried it,leaving it till one week before yb racing, tried it. Single up, tried it. The best training I think you can do is this, 7mls, 12mls, 25mls x 4, back to 12 mls 3 times a week.CONFIDENCE, CONFIDENCE, CONFIDENCE ;) All the above training works but the last one won me best performance ybs in Midland fed. ( thats hard to achieve where I am located ) May I also say, in the last 10 years of the Kirkintilloch club I was maybe once out the top 3 in yb racing. None of the above without HEALTH . CAN I JUST ADD, MY BIRDS HAVENT HAD A TRAINING TOSS FOR TWO WEEKS. Another key ingredient- Rest

Hi

The key word is confidence thats what wins race

Hope you read this Endflight

A mate of mine just had the season (yb) of his life, the man he trains with had a very good season too, they were training their young birds in MAY this year along with the old birds, up to about 40mls. They both had heavy losses early on but when the chaff was gone they hardly lost a bird in racing, my mate Aldo go 21/21 in the first Consett and 19/19 in the second one, both races were nothing short of a disaster yet he got all of his both times. You might have thought it was good fortune the first time but the second time confirms his methods were superior to most, including myself I handled his doos through a couple of the races and they were built like Tanks, not BIG doos though they are of medium cast, all were on the darkness and i am looking forward to next year to see how they perform as yearlings

Better ask JOHN DOUGAL how he manages them cause it was him that bred and trained them :) Taking nothing away from Aldo he done well :)

this area is a bogey one for me personaly and a few other fanceirs that i know .with the youngsters a few weeks ago i went from being 1st 2nd and 3rd fed arniston the week after i sent 27 to consett and dropped 20 . in the old birds i only lost 18 doos for 16 races including 5 nationals and out of the 18 i lost 6 of them were at consett .in the snfc this year i sent 18 doos to the 5 races i entered and only dropped 4 doos 3 of the races being across the channel and the other 2 being the inland nationals yet i dropped 6 at consett ;) . i dont know if its consett or not but our fed has tried a few race points down that way and seem to get eratic returns ;):(:(
