jocky Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 HAWKS BAD LIBERATION POINTS IT GOES ON AND ON WIND NOT IN OUR FAVOUR ITS ENDLESS WE RACE OUR PIGEONS INTO THE WEST OF SCOTLAND SO WE SHOULD BE RACING OUR DOOS DOWN THE WEST AND A DONT WANT TO HERE ABOUT PERCY HE IS EVERY WHERE SO LETS BE RACING WHER LANARKSHIRE SHOULD BE DOWN THE WEST
tyson Posted August 29, 2010 Author Report Posted August 29, 2010 I agree that most of the scottish feds should be back down the west cant be any worse than what we are experiencing a lot less chance of clashing all birds heading north

tyson Posted August 29, 2010 Author Report Posted August 29, 2010 alf I take that you are happy with all the losses that we are getting down the eastside as I said it cant be any worse down the west what you are not taken in to consideration is the cubria pigeons take a different route ie they fly up through the lake distict our pigeons would not fly through that route

Guest spin cycle Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 if you vote on the 'train only' thread you will see that yb losses are not a problem to most fanciers...they are prepared to go through it....come jan. people will be stating they're after a team about 50-60 ybs....then they'll complain about corn prices....then about loosing most of them
paddymac Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I know that the bops contribute to a certain amount of losses but I also believe that we as fanciers are also part of the problem with the amount of foreign imports that are brought in year after year and the home grown birds are being ignored because of these over priced super imports. Years ago when money was in shortage we bred off the birds that we could only afford usually bought at local sales for whatever reason, we swapped birds, we were gifted birds but we certainly never dreamed or could afford purchasing birds from the continent. We relied on our own home grown birds that were well climatised to our terrain and stood the test, not birds that haven't a clue what a mountain looks like let alone flying round one. Theres too much money involved in the "sport" now, years ago it was called a hobby but unfortunately the money side of things appears to have taken over. JMO
jocky Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 your birds would come up over the sharp then take what would get, know top men from annan they will tell you this ?IF YOU READ THREADS EARLY ON TODAY THE MEN IN THE EAST DONT LET THERE :( PIGEONS OUT AT THE LOFT BECAUSE OF PERCY

paddymac Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 We all knows what Alf means, it helps to allievate a certain degree of the problem.
tyson Posted August 29, 2010 Author Report Posted August 29, 2010 listen lads I think we are getting of the original topic that is to find the probable causes to the losses is there such things as dead zones just like on mobile phones you go through a area and you lose the signal then you come out of that area and you get a signal could the pigeon be doing the same droping down into the valleys to avoid all the signals that could be interfering with there homing ability and when they come out of these valleys they get bombarded with these signals from what ever thus disorienting the pigeons there has to be an answer to what is happening I think it is time that the powers at be were doing a bit of research into this as we all pay fees to our govering bodies jmo

I would certainly agree with you on the issue that the ruling bodies need to be doing more research into the problems that we are faced with today.

I would certainly agree with you on the issue that the ruling bodies need to be doing more research into the problems that we are faced with today. I too would welcome research done on finding out what happens after the strings are cut. You cannot solve a problem unless you know what that problem is, or more probably, what the problems are.
dal2 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I am quite sure that a small percentage o monies raised at Blackpool would go a long wae tae some light aircraft or other method tae monitor a lib????
