Just had my missing youngster return from yesterdays training toss. It has suffered a broken ankle. Any tips on best way to deal with it? There is nothing to splint really so just going to leave and hope it heals up. Anyone got any other ideas? It is the ring leg and is quite swollen so will have to observe the ring doesn't become too tight with the swelling

One of our old birds broke just above the ankle - it was splinted - but kept coming off - so was allowed to heal naturally - however the bones 'healed' side by side, it's the ETS ring leg - and the ETS ring stands on top of the lower bone - not ideal - the ETS ring had to be removed to allow to heal because of the original swelling

So do keep your eyes on the swelling
